"THE IRON"

Station number 8 is located at the intersection of Wall Street and Battery Park Avenue. Here you will find a replica of an old flat iron actually used at the Asheville Laundry at the turn of the century. The iron, created by
Asheville artist Reed Todd, calls attention to the adjacent 1926 Flat Iron Building, so named because of it's unusual shape. The area around Wall Street and Battery Park Avenue are filled with small boutiques, antique stores and restaurants. |
