Station # 23...
"Past and Promise"
by: Jim Barnhill
"Past and Promise" is the title found on the plaque located at Station # 23. Here Asheville's little girl sips from a horse head fountain, a replica of fountains that once stood in nearby Pack Square. This area of the city has been
used as a central gathering place for commerce and celebration since its founding in 1798. Today, one may find large festivals held at the square, as well as small gatherings of folks on summer evenings. The statue was created by North Carolina artist Jim Barnhill."
